Fontaine Ankle Strap Sandal

These shoes are true showstoppers. The design is gorgeous, and they absolutely make a statement—I’ll be keeping them for the style alone. That said, comfort is a major drawback. The toe next to my big toe takes the brunt of the pressure, and it shows: it turns red and sore even while I’m walking short distances. I suspect they’ll work better if you have longer toes, but with average-sized toes the separation from the big toe creates a painful pinch point. They’re fine for sitting or standing in place, but walking more than a few feet quickly becomes uncomfortable. In short: stunning to look at, not built for movement.

These are showstoppers for sure, but are extremely impractical. I made them wearable by inserting clear gel cushions used for thong sandals and cutting up clear gel inserts and sticking them inside the shoes at all the friction or pressure points.

These shoes are absolutely gorgeous!! They fit true to size and surprisingly they’re comfortable. Jeffrey Campbell never disappoints! These shoes are truly unique.. I can’t wait to wear these shoes.
