Floral Clipped Jacquard Cowl Neck Gown

I’m 5'2", 128 lbs, and typically wear a size 4. The dress is a little long on me, but with heels it falls perfectly. The fabric has a nice weight to it and drapes beautifully over the hips. I was initially worried that the floral print might feel old-fashioned, but instead it looks rich and luxurious. The presentation was also impressive—it arrived in a large box with hangers, a garment bag, and a lovely thank-you letter from RL.

I ordered this online, loved how unique and rich the pattern was on the dress. Loved the whole look and styling in general from the picture, especially for fall. I have never ordered from Ralph Lauren before, or Lauren by Ralph Lauren and was pleasantly surprised to see larger sizes available. I ordered an 18. I would say I am generally between an 18 and 16 and normally go with an 18 for body skimming dresses, as my bottom half is curvy. I would say this is TTS mostly. The top half and waist were a little unfitted. When I first tried it on, I thought the dress fit well, it defiantly wasn't too tight and skimmed my body comfortably. I was unsure how confident and good I felt in it though. I normally don't wear long dresses with so much fabric, and I felt a bit too covered up and would I say dowdy? I am turning 40 and wanted a unique special dress, it looks really cute with a jean jacket and boots to dress down FYI. But sometimes something really beautiful just doesn't really feel/look right on yourself. I am going to try a size smaller which might be a little crazy, but I thought perhaps it needed to be a wee bit more body hugging. It might just not be the best dress on me for my personal preference. For info on the length, I am 5'11 and curvy, so the length hit the floor grazing it perfectly with flat shoes. With 2 in. heels the hem was clear off the floor for by a few in. I think it personally looks better floor length with heels. But I would have to wear flats for it to touch the ground. To conclude it is a beautiful dress. The fabric is as gorgeous as you could imagine and perfect for a romantic fall look. I think getting a really good fit in this dress is important, so trying a few sizes might be a good idea. Thankfully the exchange/return process is amazing.
