What it is: A Nordstrom-exclusive fragrance inspired by the DNA of extinct flowers, brought to life through biotechnology.

Fragrance story: A cooling, watery overture is awakened by a pinch of black pepper and vibrant bergamot, softened by a floral heart and grounded by the soothing scent of earthy woods, salted musk and wet stones.

Style: Fresh aquatic.

SO Overpowering and NOTHING Like the Name

This Future Society Floating Forest perfume was completely overwhelming for me. I sprayed it on a piece of tissue paper and had to move it to the garage because the scent was so strong and overpowering. It has a very intense, masculine leaning profile that does not feel anything like the idea of “floating through a magical forest.” Instead of something airy or green, it comes across as heavy, synthetic, and overdone. I really had high hopes for this fragrance, but it missed the mark completely for me. It feels so strong that I cannot imagine wearing it out in public without it being too much for everyone around me.
