Wool Stand Collar Car Coat

I am very happy with this coat. I bought a size 16 to fit a 43" bust and my broad shoulders, and it is a perfect fit with room for a suit jacket underneath.. I love the clean lines of this coat and the Loro Piana wool. I wanted a 100% wool coat, and that is not always easy to find, so I jumped at the chance to get this one. And I love the price reduction. I couldn't be more pleased.

The fabric on this coat is very luxurious, as one would expect from Loro PIana wool. The cut is generous, and you can wear heavy sweaters under it for additional warmth necessary for Chicago winters. I like the mid-hip length which is great for pants, but some may feel that it is too short for a dress. The side vents are cut high, and that may be a wind issue. I bought the 12 and it was a little tight across the bust, so now have the 14 and had to have the sleeves shortened.

For comparison purposes I will state that I own mostly designer wool coats because I appreciate the construction, high quality material, and the design of those coats/jackets. This brand is new to me but my sales women showed it to me and I thought it was a Burberry coat at first. It is a bit lighter weight than what I currently own (which was how I justified adding this to my pile since I own several black wool coats). It is a well made coat; because it is partly sewn by hand the sizing does vary slightly, so if one doesn't fit quite right it is worth trying others on...I did and found the sizing I prefer. It is true to size. Also, it is not noted above but there is a slit up each side of the coat so be sure to remove the loose stitching that is used purely so that it hangs nicely for delivery at the store.

This is a lovely wool coat. The quality is outstanding. My husband stopped what he was doing when I modeled it for him and simply said, "Wow. Keep it." Fortunately it was on sale for which I was grateful and minimized my guilt factor at spending this much for a wool coat. Bottom line: It's worth every penny.

warm and comfortable yet stylish and chic. I absolutely ADORE this coat. secretly wishing I could wear it every day for the rest of forever. I bought the vicuna color and I love it - goes well with everything! easy to dress up or down. I suggest getting a larger size to make sure it's not too snug when you layer clothes under it (in my case - 2 fit when I was wearing a tshirt, no way I could've worn anything thicker so 4 was perfect).
