Reed Italian Wool Coat

The online pictures do not do this coat justice--you have to feel to fully appreciate the material and construction. It is probably the most quality clothing purchase I have made in a long time. The coat presents a very tailored and streamlined look; it is not A-line. The front pockets are faux, and there are real, well-placed side pockets! The material is from Italy and the coat is made in America. I am under 5'5 and did not need to purchase a Petite. I am size 2-4 in most shirts and the size 2 was the nice tailored look I was going for. I'd been looking at coats roughly half the price of this coat and nothing was moving the needle for me--fit and quality were so lacking. This coat was a bit of 'splurge' and well worth it.

I tried several coats before making a purchase and this coat, the Fleurette Reed, is the one I ended buying. It was by far the highest quality coat I looked at. The Italian made wool has a nice combination of softness and structure. It looks and feels great on. I picked the color Vicuna, which is a little darker than some of the other camel color coats I tried. I love the simple button down front and the side-seam pockets. Everything about it is classic and clean. It’s lined on the inside with a pretty dark-pink fabric. The coat runs large. I’m 5’7”and ordered sizes 6 and 4 to try. But I ended up exchanging for a size 2. The size 2 is still roomy enough for me to wear a sweater under the coat and is a flattering fit.The most expensive coat I tried, but it was easy to see why when comparing it with others. I expect to enjoy it for many years to come. Made in the U.S.

Seeking a classic black 100% wool coat. This coat is it. Great fit! Sized up one size from 10 to 12 to be able to wear medium weight layer underneath. Classic styling! Looks beautiful on! Very well made! Nordstrom tailor lengthened the sleeves for me (tall 5’ 11”, long arms, 160). Now it’s perfect!
