Kånken Tote Backpack

I like the versatility of this bag, but there’s one big flaw. The side pockets are way too narrow! On a bag this size, those pockets should be able to hold a regular sized water bottle or an umbrella. These pockets are deep and narrow and I really can’t think of a thing you can put in them...totally useless. Otherwise, I like the bag. Don’t know if I’ll keep it or not.

I bought the mini version of "Kanken Tote Backpack" in black. I liked the idea of convertible. It's a cute weekend bag, but a few flaws. I'm unable to wear as a backpack. I've extended straps but still sits too high on the back. I'm 5 feet, normal build for reference. The side pockets are too narrow for water bottle. As a tote, it's fine. Probably going to return bc of the 2 functions I mention are useless.

TL;DR : Make the backpack straps adjustable and you have a 10-star bag. I had the mini totepack and found it too small for this over-packer, so I thought this would be perfect. Unfortunately, the straps are just too long; all of them. I could deal with the tote straps being a bit too long, but the backpack straps are too long for me also, which makes the bag pull away and down from my body, pulling my shoulders back (and also looking a little funny). I am not a large person, but I am not petite, either. I'm 5'3, ~140lbs, about 34C, and I have the shoulders of a small linebacker. If you're slightly larger than I am, this will be PERFECT. If you're smaller or a lot larger, I don't think you'll be too comfy if you load it up. The Rowan Red color (same as my mini - I really did LOVE that bag) is more of a tomato red or blood orange color, and it works surprisingly well with a lot of colors! Perfect 3-season color, IMO. I'm going to try to make this work for me (creative packing? IDK.) bevause I really do like this bag a lot. Fjallraven, PLEASE ADD ADJUSTERS TO THE BACK STRAP. BTW I love Kanken bags. I find the backpacks very comfortable, even when full, and they hold up well, though they DO show dirt a bit more than, say, material like a Jansport. They're stylish enough to not look like you're an overgrown child, but they're not too dressy for a sporting event or the zoo. You really can't go wrong with their Kanken line.

I bought this bag to use as a diaper tote especially since it zips at the top, the grey color is wonderful, the fabric seems water resistant and durable and is a great size. I absolutely fell in love the idea of tote to backpack conversion but unfortunately it sits very high and tight on both my husband and I. Maybe this conversion method would be great if you were on the very slim side it wouldn't be high or tight. If only they added an adjustable plastic glide buckle on the backpack strap with extra material i think it'd be the ticket. Side pockets are pretty narrow and long. Will only fit a regular 16.9 oz plastic water bottle. Will likely return.

I bought this tote bag because the viral ikea tote bag was sold out everywhere and let me tell you I think I dodged a bullet! This tote is very well made and spacious! I love the fact that I can turn it into a backpack if need be and it fits my laptop and iPad perfectly! I can this tote lastly me for many years! I would highly recommend getting one.

This is my second bag from this brand. I needed an everyday carry and I loved the idea of it being an actual tote but also with the backpack capability. It's perfect. it's the perfect size for me to carry my entire life in. But the it's also like so easy to change it from a tote to a backpack. The yellow color is GORGEOUS, its like carrying literal sunshine. I get so many compliments on this bag. definitely worth the price. huge huge fan.
