Mini Kånken Water Resistant Backpack

The mini Kanken backpack is the perfect size to use as an everyday purse or for short trips to amusement parks, hiking, or shopping. I stopped using tote bags and purses to avoid future shoulder and spine problems, so this is perfect to limit the amount of things I carry and to distribute the weight evenly on both shoulders. On top of all that, it's super cute! I got it in the color Fog and it goes with everything since it is pretty neutral. The bright red of the logo stands out on this color. The shoulder straps are not padded, but it doesn't matter because the size of the bag limits the weight of it's contents. With a bigger size I would choose a backpack with padding to prevent shoulder pain. The flat pockets on the sides of the backpack are too small for standard water bottles, so I use them to carry my sunglasses and my pepper spray. The small pocket on the front of the backpack is very small; too small for a cellphone, but perfect for my chapstick and tiny lotion bottle.

I ordered the mini kånken sky blue to use for traveling to and from work. It’s really adorable and perfect size for everyday use, problem is the straps are extremely short, even when extended to full length. So I researched what the strap length was on the mini vs the classic and discovered on Fjällräven’s website that the bag is actually classified as kids. My build is athletic, I’m 5’5” and my shoulders are somewhat broad. I’m chubby, a size 14, but by no means heavily overweight, I do wear a G cup though which could be the culprit. When the bag was on it sat awkwardly high on my back, and the straps pulled across my shoulders in the front. In all my research before ordering no one else seems to have this issue. But be warned if you have a broad back, overweight at all, have a larger chest go for the classic. The straps are definitely longer, even though I was told they are exactly the same length in store. I exchanged my mini for the classic and the fit was 100 times better.
