What it does: Sulwhasoo’s First Care Activating Serum is a lightweight, fast-absorbing formula designed to prevent—rather than correct—visible signs of aging. At the heart of this advanced serum is the potent synergy of 500-Hour Aged Ginseng Extract (LYMPHANAX™) and a proprietary Korean Herb Extract blend. Together, they strengthen the skin barrier, boost hydration and help defend against environmental stressors to minimize visible fine lines.
Its silky texture absorbs instantly into damp skin, delivering immediate hydration while improving dryness, dullness and overall tone—making it the essential first step in any high-performance skin-care ritual.

Key ingredients:

Quick Absorbency, Results, & great prep for makeup

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had the opportunity to try several Sulwhasoo products lately, which have quickly become favorites of my skin care routine, and this serum is absolutely no different. Now, I will admit, I use several serums in my morning routine, and I wasn't sure whether this would mesh well with those, or if it would need to become a standalone product. I have tried it both ways. What was pleasantly surprising is how well this worked both on it's own, as well as in combination with other products, and it is the perfect precursor to their moisturizer. As with their other products, you will find that pleasant and slightly crisp ginseng smell, which I personally find very spa like. But what I always love most about their products other than the obvious long term results is the ABSORBENCY and GLIDE. The truth is, your skin care can work amazing, and we all know that Sulwhasoo products do that - BUT! If your skincare doesn't set the foundation for your makeup application, it's very unlikely you will use it on a consistent enough basis to achieve results. I have noticed since I've started using their products that because I am able to use a little to go a long way, and it absorbs so well, and leaves such a nice finish/texture to the skin - that it has become the perfect prep for my makeup. My foundation has been going on absolutely flawlessly.... smooth, requiring less product, no pilling, no separation... We all know that skin prep is the most important step to getting great makeup application, and this is where these products really hit it out of the park for me. There is something about the consistency of their skin care that not only gives me the results I'm looking for, but gives me an amazing makeup application. I just love it. And for that reason I know I will be able to use it consistently rather than only saving it for non makeup days. Excellent serum. A LITTLE GOES A LONG WAY!

incomplete bootles

I purchased the duo version (2x2.02oz). Theses bottles aren't necessarily 2.02 oz if they are only a little over half full. I went through the first bottle rather quickly, in about a month. The second bottle did not dispense the serum smoothly so I put it up to a very bright light since the bottles are opaque. I discovered that it was just a little over half full. I called customer service and they advised me to always inspect the merchandise within the 30 day return window. She said this is what she always does. Such an interesting comment since I told her the bottles are opaque. Are customers always suppose to thoroughly inspect beauty products to make sure the amount is in the container as stated? I'm not blaming Nordstrom for the incomplete bottles, but the Nordstrom rep's advice was irritating and unhelpful.

Sulwasoo doesn't disappoint

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Sulwasoo doesn't disappoint and they sure didn't with this serum. The texture is lightweight and kinda silky. It's not to thin its just right to me. It doesn't leave my skin sticky. It makes it feel really soft. It absorbs really well. I have dry skin and this helped so much. My skin feels hydrated and even looks smoother. I can tell that my skin has a more of a even tone. i will have to use it more before I can tell about the fine lines. The smell I don't think is that bad. You get use to it but other people might think differently. *This review was collected as part of a promotion.
