Mini Mat Silicone Feeding Mat

It is smaller than I expected but it turned out to be perfect! It even fits on top of the tray on Stokke Tripp Trapp high chair. I got the grey color so the food colors will stand out (have no idea if it makes any difference, just a thought I had in my lack-of-sleep brain), and the three departments work for me as a nice reminder/inspiration of making sure the little one gets a variety of food and textures for every meal. It's great that it can go into top rack dishwasher, but it is also very easy to get all food cleaned off by handwash. It comes in a plastic bag that is very convenient when bringing the mat with you.

I purchased this to take along on vacations and to restaurants so my grandson would have a clean non-breakable plate. The suction is great on granite or any clean solid surface. Even though it doesn't work on rough surfaces, it's a much better option than putting a toddlers food on a napkin or directly on the table of a restaurant. (often wiped down with a cloth used over and over) My 1 year old grandson could get the mat off the surface by putting his little fingers along the edge but I'd still purchase it again. I also purchased the large rectangular mat but returned it. The small oval one is perfect for taking it along in a ziplock bag.

I LOVED this when I saw it on Shark Tank and snapped it right up when I saw that Nordstrom had it. The good-- it's very high quality, the colors are attractive, and the sections are great sized for portions. The bad-- my 13 month-old daughter watched my husband remove the mat from our granite countertop ONCE and that was all it took. She can now peel it off herself very easily and fling it around. SO, it isn't going to help us with the flinging of dishes problem. We'll still use it as her plate until she grows out of this portion size, but she definitely can't be left alone with it, which was the point of getting it-- to let her do finger foods on her own without making a huge mess.
