Blue Opal Disc Station Necklace

This necklace has its good points such as it's a dainty little necklace and the colors are sweet and lovely. However, it's crooked, meaning if the wearer has to use anything but the tightest closure (one pictured on Nordstrom site), the necklace becomes wop-sided and the closure shows on the side of the neck. I only had to move it up about 1/2 way for this to occur. Any more and it's very off balance. I have a slender neck but that first closure requires one to have a very tiny measurement of 12-12.5" in order for it to lay correctly balanced. Has anyone else experienced this? I haven't decided yet whether to return/exchange or try to fix it myself.
