Sophisticated Chic
I purchased my first Eric Javits hat, the Daphne Fedora, in natural/black, and was so pleased with the quality I've just ordered the Squishee IV in natural.
This is a sophisticated wide brimmed fedora, with very clean cut lines, great balance and fit. Somewhere I read a suggestion to wear it at a tilt to soften the look a bit, and that's what I've done. This is not your average summer straw hat- the "fabric" is tightly woven and incredible with it's 50 UV protection and stiffer structure. I wore it at the beach last week in 100 degree heat and kept it on most of the day. It was light, comfortable and my face and neck were well protected, they actually felt cooler. The elastic inner band felt comfortable, not too tight, yet kept the hat on in moderate wind gusts. The "natural" color is a medium shade that looked good with my light hair and would compliment any coloring or clothing color.
The Daphne Fedora is a beautiful, well designed and well made hat that should last for years. It should, for this price ! I think the quality is hard to find and worth it. I've become an Eric Javits fan and can hardly wait to try the Squishee IV and find my winter hat !

Packed horribly
Looking forward to this beautiful hat and was tracking it all the way from Connecticut. When I received my package and unpacked it I was sad and disappointed on how the hat inside was smashed even though the box was perfectly intact. The way this beautiful hat was packaged was horrible. only in a plastic bag, smashed up.

Very well made and super stylish. For such an expensive hat it should come with its own hat box in my opinion.

Function and style
This is my fourth hat from Eric Javits and as always, money well spent. I have always been very keen to protect my skin from the sun, especially my face, but when I moved to Florida two years ago I really had step up my game. Daily sun protection while maintaining style and function is challenging so I find a fantastic hat like this well worth the money. I always felt foolish in hats until I came across this brand. I particularly like this brim, it extends providing neck coverage yet it isn't floppy. Practical around the pool, at lunch, or simply picking up my kids from elementary school.

Great hat
Wide brim provides good sun protection and looks stylish. Love it. Expensive, but worth it. I have several Eric Javits hats, and they have all lasted for years and years.

Good beach hat
Good looking hat. Fits comfortably snug so, I don’t have to worry about it blowing off on the beach. Arrived crumpled in the box so, I’ve been steaming it trying to smooth out the brim. Maybe only purchase in store where you can ensure quality.

Elegant
Expensive yes, but the excellent quality in manufacture and design is immediately apparent. I bought this hat in both the natural and the blush. It’s very versatile because the proportions are elegantly refined, but the style is also just the slightest bit dashing. Which can be increased by wearing it at a slight tilt. It’s fun and classy at the same time. I normally wear hat size 6-7/8, and this hat is a little roomy but not too big - I would just prefer it a touch snugger. This hat will give you the self-confidence to be a hat person if you’re at all self-conscious.
