Embroidered A-Line Cocktail Dress

THIS IS ABSOLUTELY PERFECT - As a grandmother of the Bride, I wanted something elegant and classic. Nothing split up the leg, strapless, one shoulder, overly fussy and certainly not a sexy look, yet not frumpy. This dress is great, I did have to have it shortened a bit, but it is age appropriate and flattering. I love it.

Needed a dress for outdoor March formal wedding in Indiana. Seemed an impossible task… freak heat wave or snow?! This dress hit the mark exactly in the middle! Flattering cut, skirt and bodice are lined, stitching on top catches the eye just enough you don’t need flashy jewelry, even has pockets so I didn’t spend $ on a clutch - just this dress and a pair of hose (simple navy kitten heel work shoes already in the closet, but silver would have been a great look as well). I’m 56 and was a little concerned the dress would age me, but it has elements you can play with - personally I was going for a 1950’s vibe… just leave the dress be :) It’s definitely navy (not peacock blue), but there is a shimmer in the skirt material that catches light in a nice way.
