Convertible Collar Kimono Sleeve Coat (Nordstrom Exclusive)

This is a nice coat, the color is a beautiful teal and the quality is very good. There are some nice details to the coat which give it a rich look. However, I am returning the coat because the shape is not flattering. I am 5'4, 120 lbs, the coat is wider at the bottom and makes me look very large. Size was a little larger as well, I ordered a 4P. It's too bad it wasn't straighter and a little more fitted. Even though it didn't work for me, it was nice to see a coat come in something other than black.

This is a beautifully-designed coat with a timeless design and polished finishes. The fabric is silky to the touch, and all of the buttons/fastenings are cleverly hidden so that you can wear the jacket unbuttoned or closed, and both are equally stylish. The top-stitching details are beautiful. Feels like a true bargain given the thoughtful attention to detail in its design and execution. I was between sizes (6 and 8) and ordered both - it runs a bit on the slim side, so you may want to order two sizes if you are on the borderline.

The color was very different from the Ivory online. It looked like a dingy beige. For that reason only I returned it. Not as expected.

I have a hard time buying coats; I'm short, but not really "petite" in that I have curves. My bottom is curvier than my top, too, which is a problem - in order to fit my lower half, most coats are just too big in the arms and shoulders. But this coat is perfect for me! I needed something right at the knee that wasn't a heavy parka, and this fits the bill. The swingier A-line cut means that this does fit me below the waist, but isn't too big in the shoulders. If you want a very trim silhouette, this isn't for you. But it works for me. The sleeves are too long but that's so typical for me, I'm used to having a tailor shorten them. But in this coat, I also have the option of turning them up without the lining showing, due to the way the coat is made. So that's a plus. I am a little disappointed that the top button feels loosely sewn, so I'll have to take it in to a tailor to have it re-sewn. But that's my only quibble. I love the merlot color; I get so weary of black but can never wear a lighter color in the city. All in all, this is perfect.

This is the perfect classic camel coat I've been looking for--simple, classic, chic, yet modern. It's great for work and fun! I've already received many comments on it. The collar is great protection for your neck on a windy, cold day. It's roomy enough to wear sweaters and a suit jacket under it without feeling confined.
