Papaya Enzyme Peel

I was first introduced to the Elemis products at a lovely Spa in Durban, South Africa. I have been addicted since then. Twice a week I give myself a facial, first cleanse with the Elemis Pro-Collagan Cleaning Balm, leaving it on for 10 minutes. You use this on dry skin then rub gently with warm water then throughly rinse. Second apply a layer of the Papaya Enzyme Peel, leaving on longer than directed, at least 20 minutes. Third step is the PC Quartz Lifting Mask, leaving on for 20-30. I am regularly complimented on my skin the following days. I have a closet full of products….also love Darphin, but, the Elemis products are amazing.

Finally managed to get my hands on this. It's one of those I've been wanting to try for years as I love the concept of fruit enzymes and the thorough yet gentle (compared to AHA's) results they deliver, in this case via Pineapple and Papaya enzymes. I apply a dime size amount to my face and neck, and leave on for about 15 minutes. I did try to leave on the once for half an hour, but that was too much for my skin and I had to wash it off due to the strong tingling sensation. Having used this a few times now, I have to say its most immediate effect for me is the clarity it brings to my skin. There's a smoothness, an almost polished look that makes it seem like I've had a very mild chemical peel. There's no grains in here so it's not like a manual scrub or exfoliator, instead you have a thin consistency cream which glides on quite easily and partly vanishes by the time 15 minutes have come around. Ingredients-wise it's pretty decent, mostly beneficial (with the exception of too much fragrance fragrance). I'm just glad this isn't a moisturizer as it contains Glyceryl Stearate SE - an acnegenic ingredient when absorbed by the skin for extended periods. I bought this based on beauty reviews (it kept popping up on different lists. I took it as a sign to try it.) Now I see why it is so highly recommended. I have used it once a week for a month now and I already see a difference in my skin. I know its for anti aging but it has helped clear up my acne (seriously almost 30 and still have acne.) and helped ease the redness in my skin. I will absolutely continue to use this and I look forward to seeing how it will work for when my skin starts to age. I have a feeling I wont be disappointed. Am looking forward to trying more from elemis.

I have been using Elemis products since 2005 and they are perfect for my sensitive and dry skin. This Papaya Enzyme Peel is my weekly routine for exfoliating and makes my skin so moist and soft each time I use it. It smells so wonderful too! Even if you are using other brand of skincare products, I would highly recommend this for exfoliation, especially for those with dry and sensitive skin type.

I received a sample of the Papaya Enzyme Peel in one of Nordstrom's gift bonus packages. The sample sat in a drawer for some time. When I finally tried it out I didn't expect to be thrilled, but WOW! After rinsing off and drying, my skin felt smooth and it looked less dull. Before Elemis, previous products I had used, left me with the impression masks or peels were supposed to leave my face a little red or itchy. Not so in this case --- this mask-peel is gentle yet effective and left me with a glow.
