Stretch Silk Bias Cut Midi Skirt

Bought this and the coordinating shell, so light and breezy. Unlined, but not sheer, will wear a slip anyway of course. Washes well, pleats remain, no additional wrinkles. Quite long, a maxi at 5’4”. Material has a slight sheen. Color is a sand/champagne. Does not mix well with a bright white, makes it look dingy (just a FYI). Nice comfy and flowy summer skirt.

I purchased the silk top and skirt in Papyrus from EF and was disappointed that a matching jacket or sweater wasn't offered in Papyrus and disappointed that the fabric is too thin. I also purchased the top and skit in Flint with the matching Flint silk jacket that is available at Nordstrom and Bloomingdales. While the Flint silk jacket has a slightly higher-quality weight fabric with better drape while still being very lightweight, the silk used for the Papyrus and Flint silk top and skirt is too lightweight and the thinness causes the hem to curve rather than drape evenly. It seems that the top and skirt were made with the thinnest silk possible which is sub-standard and disappointing for the price. I suspect this is a 10-momme silk at best. The silk fabric feels fragile that it could shred if not handled or washed with extreme care. I have an extensive wardrobe of silk and EF silk pieces. The top and skirt would have been perfect if they were made in the same lightweight fabric of the matching jacket. The first compliment I got wearing the Flint outfit was 'the jacket makes the outfit'. Beautiful design and attractive but I am sad to say it is cheap and flimsy.

No one else makes materials with the shades and colors the way Eileen Fisher does. They are beautiful, subtle, elegant and unique. The clothes are also comfortable but you can still always be confident that you look stylish. This skirt paired with the matching top can be worn casually or dressed up. The material is so light it is the perfect summer outfit for hot, humid weather.
