Long Sleeve Velvet Shift Dress

I live in Eileen Fisher clothing and especially love her dresses. I wanted a casual velvet dress for the holidays and beyond, and this was just what I was looking for. As a 70 year old woman (5’5”, 168 pounds, pear shaped) I like my knees and upper arms covered. This dress, in an XL, just goes below the knee on me. Ideally, I would have liked it a couple inches longer, but because the fabric is gorgeous and there are pockets, I decided I could handle the length. Many are used to ordering down a size in this line, but on this dress I’d recommend ordering your usual size. The neck and armholes are borderline snug, and I’m relatively small chested. For an XL, the sleeves are the perfect length on my shorter arms which surprised me. It can be worn straight out of the box- no wrinkles- and will be perfect for any occasion. Accessories will determine the mood. Highly recommend even though it is definitely on the pricey side, but I’m sure I’ll get my money’s worth out of this beautiful, timeless dress.
