Elieen Fisher Classic Collar Organic Cotton & Hemp Jacket

I loved the short length of this jacket and the color (tarragon, I think). It would have been a great 3-season layer, but the fabric looked suspiciously as if it would need ironing after each washing … something for which I don’t have time in my life. (I make rare exceptions, but don’t wish to extend my ‘must-iron’ wardrobe.) I confirmed my suspicion with staff members at my local EF store who own this item … one did iron and one didn’t. I know that the ‘casual’ un ironed look is popular with many; I’m just not one of them. So, if you’re like me (and the other salesperson who irons this) and like your clothes crisp, you might think twice about this. If you like the ‘lived-in’ look, you may love this jacket. The other observation that I’ll make is that I didn’t love the huge pockets on this. To me, they were disproportionate to the short style of the jacket, and an unflattering distraction. Had I thought that this would wash, hang and dry ready to wear, it wouldn’t have been a deal breaker for me, since it would otherwise be a really useful item. Still, I’d lose the oversized pockets in a future iteration. Sad to send back, but it just didn’t work for me. Would love this in a more wash and wear fabric, with smaller pockets, though!
