Crushed Silk Habutai Tiered Dress

I hesitated before ordering this dress because of the price and also because I worried that it might look too shapeless or oversized. When it finally arrived, I was delighted to find that the dress is even more beautiful in real life than it is in the photos. The size and dimensions are perfect - it's sleek and straight without looking oversized or frumpy at all. For reference I'm 5'7" and I typically wear a size 8-10 in Vince. There have been times when the EF 'small' is way too big for me, but with this dress it was just right. I can't recommend this dress highly enough - it's comfortable and easy to wear, but the colour and fabric look so polished.. It's going to be perfect for casual get-togethers during the summer.

This dress is wonderful. The silk falls beautifully. I felt like as million dollars the moment I pulled it on. It moves. It flows. It's going to pack beautifully. It will go anywhere - with sandals, I'm ready for a resort dinner. With my heels, I'm ready for a nice evening out in town. The fit over the body is typical for Eileen Fisher, but I did find that the bodice was closer fitting than often in this brand. If you go between sizes on EF and are larger on top, consider the higher size. The slip fits beautifully, and yes, there are tiny button gadgets in the straps to keep things aligned. I loved this dress. My husband encouraged me to go back and get it in the 2nd color (!!!). This dress is simple, timeless, beautiful. I can't wait to wear it!!

I wish I could recommend this dress, but I cannot. It looks entirely like a shapeless bag when worn, and the inner slip sizing is completely differently than the dress sizing itself. The inner slip will not fit you if you have any bust size larger than a size B bust. The dress in person does not have the sheen and pretty color that is shown online. The color in person is quite dull, sadly. I don’t mean this as a slight, but I am 55, maybe if I were 75 I would feel differently. This dress looks just like a shapeless bag, is not worth the price, and cannot recommend.

I used Nordstrom’s stylist service and my stylist found me the perfect dress! Believe it when they say that you need to size down with Eileen Fisher, though—I had to go down two sizes from my normal size to get it right. The dress has a wonderful crinkled texture and a separate slip that keeps you covered without being heavy. The silk fabric feels luxurious to the touch and drapes beautifully. Can’t say enough good things about the color—a deep saturated olive green. Works great on its own or with a jacket or sweater.

The online photos do not do this dress justice - it is absolutely gorgeous in person. I'm currently dress size 10 and typically float between a small or a medium in Eileen Fisher. The medium is a looser fit for this piece - the small was perfect for me as it was more fitted. I got this piece to attend a wedding and received many compliments on it. The concept of the dress is simple in nature - it is the texture and color of the silk that elevates it to another level. It was well worth the investment as it is easy to dress up or down... will be getting a lot of mileage out of it.
