Classic Collar Corduroy Jacket

I really liked the photos of this jacket on models that I saw on the Eileen Fisher website. I really like corduroy and thought the jacket would provide textural contrast to smoother fabrics. Based on the photos, I thought this jacket would fit similar to other Eileen Fisher jackets that I have in my closet. But, it has a different design and fit that wasn't as loose as my other jackets and it didn't have a graceful drape like my other Eileen Fisher jackets. My body measurements suggest a size Large on the Eileen Fisher size chart, and because I like a looser fit, I ordered the jacket in size XL (for reference: about 5'6", 38DD, hips about 43"). I chose the black color (I like black clothes). Unfortunately, the fit of jacket didn't look good on me. It didn't resemble the fit of my other beloved Eileen Fisher cotton canvas and linen jackets and loose coats. This corduroy jacket sort of bunched up around the shoulder/sleeve area, it didn't have a graceful drape, the sleeves were too short, and the pockets were too high to hold my hands at a comfortable angle. The cuffs on the sleeves hit somewhere above my wrists and looked and felt awkward - the cuffs didn't sit straight against my arms, but tugged at a slight angle above my wrists (sleeves too short). Anyway, although the black corduroy fabric was beautiful and soft, the jacket didn't work out for me and I returned it the next day.
