Bateau Neck Asymmetrical Jersey Tunic

As other reviewers have noted, this tunic has a number of attributes. I agree with most of them. The jersey is a lighter weight, as expected, and a good seasonal transitional piece. I always appreciate longer sleeves for the versatility of wearing them down or pushed up. I was undecided on size, so tried a small and medium. I am 5'5" and 135 lbs. They fit surprisingly alike, although the medium was definitely longer. I could have been happy with either one. However, I have to concur with another customer who mentioned that the tunic would probably look best on a less busty, slim woman. I am 34D. I looked like I was in a maternity top. I wanted some of the characteristics of a tunic and had hoped the drape was flattering. Unfortunately, on me, it didn't work.

I got the Reef color, which is a teal with strong blue tones, and I like the depth of the color. The asymmetrical hemline is one that I particularly enjoy because my hips are different sizes and the style de-emphasizes that flaw. The flare at the bottom is enhanced by the add-on skirt. This is not one broad sweep of material, but a whole section of material that is sewn onto the top panel. It does what is shown, which means it covers over a rounder stomach area. I am short, but I got a regular size. It is long enough that I can wear leggings and still look good because, again, that round stomach is covered completely. I really like this tunic.

Once again, Eileen Fisher delivers a wonderful tunic. It is a slightly lighter version of the traditional viscose jersey, but more substantial than the silk jersey. The fabric is soft and falls nicely away from the body. The sizing is perfect, the fit is flattering but loose enough to conceal figure flaws. I love the "reef" color and the slightly edgy asymmetrical style. It is versatile in that it can be worn loose, or belted with a silver or gold chain to coordinate with my jewelry. It looks so chic with leggings, booties and a long scarf for the fall/winter season. In all, this is a winning wardrobe staple for me!

First, the pros: the material is very nice and has a nice drape. The cons: the blue is not so much blue as it is a dark teal. There's much more green in it than shown online. Not a bad thing, but I wanted the color in the picture. Also, I'm 5'3", 115 lbs. and this top made me look big at the top, busty with big shoulders. It was weird. I dint order the petite bc it wasn't available. I got an XS in the regular sizing. Maybe that's why. Overall, I was left with impression that this would look better on someone taller, with a long torso and small chest. Too bad. :(

Have not had a chance to wear this yet, but it seems nice. Is somewhat on the longer side (I am 5'4). Will be cute with leggings.

Purchased this EF tunic to wear with nice leggings and am very pleased with the fit and color (red). I am either an x-small or sm in this brand and prefer the fit of the small on my 5'8" frame.
