Beyond amazing ! This was a Christmas gift from my son & I couldn’t be happier I have super long blonde hair past my waist before it would take me min 45min to blow dry & at the end it will feel a little dry & rough of how much heat I applied to it on a side note I have healthy long hair btw & now with this blow dryer it only takes me 15 min for my hair to dry be soft & shinny .

A hair dryer isn’t something that I typically think of as a great gift. It’s one of those things your wife needs that doesn’t ordinarily count as a “gift” because it’s nothing special. It’s like a little house appliance - something she needs, but so is a dishwasher and she can buy it herself. The Dyson Supersonic is different. You can actually gift this. It seems special. The materials and packaging present a quality, futuristic consumer product. Somehow it’s like the hairdo equivalent of unwrapping your first Apple product. Everything about it is unique. It doesn’t seem like just another plasticky hair dryer. You can tell there has been a lot of thought engineered in to the design and experience. It’s a curiosity - and clearly an expensive one. I hedged and bought this as an extra Christmas gift for my wife. I hedged again and held on to it for an extra birthday gift. I was a little unsure how giving a hair dryer was going to go over. I mixed in some jewelry just in case. I’m happy to report it was well received. My wife and daughters were familiar with it and seemed to genuinely ooh and awe over it. Both daughters immediately declared they wanted one too. The three of them debated the suitability of the attachments for each of their hair types. They plugged it in and tried it out and had a whole conversation about blow outs and stuff that was a little lost on me. No other gift during the holidays garnered that much discussion except for maybe my son’s Apple Watch 3. I hope it works well and it makes my wife feel a little pampered and special. She has never been a big techie or one particularly interested in the latest consumer tech gadget, but the Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer made a fun, interesting gift. It’s expensive, but so is an Apple Watch. Does one actually need either? No, there are less expensive options that perform adequately. Like the Apple Watch though the Dyson transcends preconceived notions about the basic category it redefines.

Omg! I got this as a gift, one that I never would have bought for myself. My hair is damaged from bleaching and hella curly and thick. I had given up on drying my hair. It took up too much time, left my hair dry and frizzy, and I could never really get it dry enough. I have used this one time and have immediately seen a difference. It dries quickly and thoroughly and the shine and smoothness factor was boosted 200%. I was able to get my hair very straight with just a paddle brush and minimal effort. Plus my hair is soo soft right now. The attachments are nice, I like the magnetic hold. They aren't easily knocked loose. I am thinking about buying the stand, but for now the little loop you can attach is keeping it off the floor. The ONLY criticism I have about this hair dryer is that the cord is weighs the dryer down quite.a bit, making it heavy to use for extended periods. Im sure that because of the power factor this can't be avoided. The dryer itself is very light. This was the gift I didn't know I needed. I look forward to using it.

I wanted to love this. I have thick, curly, coarse hair, and blow it straight twice per week, which holds 3-4 days. I use a professional strength dryer, and it takes me 15-20 minutes for a sleek blowout, with no additional hot tools. With promises of faster blowouts and healthier hair, I bought the Dyson and was so excited! Sadly, it did not live up to the hype. It actually took LONGER to dry my hair (30 minutes) and it make my ends brittle and frizzy. My hair felt almost tacky/sticky and I had to go over the whole blowout with a flat iron to tame the frizzy ends. It also didn’t last — I woke up the next morning with crinkled, kinky hair instead of the usual bouncy volume I see from day two hair. While this might be a great product for fine-to-medium hair, or for those without natural curls, I’d recommend an Elchim or similar professional blow dryer for anyone with thicker, curly or ethnic hair.

I decided to splurge as I typically believe "you get what you pay for". It was light, easy to use and definitely dried my hair quickly. However, after a few uses my hair was dull and felt like straw. I went back to my cheap ceramic & ionic dryer and my hair immediately had shine and felt soft. I guess this dryer isn't for everyone. The dryer got sent back this week.

I'm really shocked at all the great reviews. First off it dried out my hair, also the design needs a lot of work. The handle should be flatter its hard to manage with smaller hands as well as the power buttons should be on the inner handle instead of outer. Too much power out of the blower had to use the lower setting. Just not worth the price, I returned it hoping they will eventually upgrade this model, loved the fuchsia color though.
