Sloane Sequin Sheath Dress

I bought this today at the local Nordstrom store. I was looking for a dress for an evening out on Bermuda in June for our upcoming 50th anniversary. I don't look my age ( almost 73) and have just lost considerable weight. However, that being said, well-made dresses like these are made and cut for women who are younger. I wasn't going to fight sizing and went for the x-l. I might have tried on and bought the large, because it has some stretch, but it wasn't available. I bought it and brought it home. My husband was ecstatic as am I. I didn't want a gown, but a dress that shows curves and a hint of cleavage. I'm also 5'2", so too many dresses just look ridiculous on me. I saw it here online and was happy to find it in the store. I'm looking forward to wearing it!

I ordered the blue whch is described as navy but is more of a bright blue like the photos. Its a lovely dress, but heavier than I expected and bulkier than I wanted for packing. It fits well, but I found it scratchy under the arms and also it was longer on me than the model. Because it is a body skimming dress it will show every flaw, and I would probably have had to wear spanx or similar under it to hide panty lines and tummy. It was nice and stretchy so you don't feel restricted wearing it. I felt the dress overwhelmed me, so I will be looking for something at knee level , this hit me about 3 inches below my knee and I am 5'7". If you"re tall and skinny its a great dress.

Beautiful, quality dress worth the price! Best of all, it is so comfortable as it gives some stretch. The torso part does run larger, XS size was slightly loose at the top. Bought emerald green after returning the port and black colors. Port color was more maroon and dark. Can't wait to wear again.
