Double Breasted Peacoat

This is a very heavy coat! I bought it in late January 2024 but by the time it arrived the cold Virginia winter had passed, so I haven't actually worn it yet. I just pulled it out to test it. It's HEAVY. If you are in a windy area this would probably be great. However, it has an odd feature. You can see in the full-body pic that it appears to have handwarmer pockets even with the second set of buttons, but on my coat these are very firmly sewn shut, and don't appear to actually be pockets at all. I also notice no picture shows the model with her hands there. In most coats with sewn-shut pockets, they are loosely basted shut so you can easily clip the basting threads and get access to the pocket, but on this coat they are completely and firmly stitched shut all along the length of the apparent pocket opening. I would have added a pic but you can't tell about this because of the fabric texture. Anyway, I probably will never get use out of this unless we head to Switzerland for the winter, or something! It's just too heavy for NoVA winters.
