What it is: A mild, soothing and revitalizing hand wash composed of notes of lavender and rosemary floral water alongside lavender honey.
What it does: Formulated with lavender from Provence, which works wonders to gently cleanse the hands while providing relief and restoring their soft feel. Rosemary floral water purifies the skin, leaving it healthy and balanced. Lavender honey, rich in mineral salts and fatty acids, helps moisturize the skin. Its fragrance features a blend of lavender, rosemary, amber and ylang-ylang. Diptyque draws its inspiration from the history of perfume by reinventing the textures of scent to offer a new approach to personal scenting, deemed fragrance gestures. It is a way to make the invisible sensual, and the ethereal tangible. Each of the gestures, eau de toilette, perfume oil, body mist or body balm, has a specific concentrate designed to offer the best olfactory rendering depending on its formulation. With its high concentration, it can often be used alone depending on the moment and the mood. The iconic oval label on the bottle is deeply rooted in diptyque's story. The thread of inspiration runs from ancient Rome to the fabric designs created during the early days of the diptyque adventure.

Be careful opening upon arrival
I ordered this rather expensive (but worth it) soap. Upon arrival, it was completely destroyed inside the package and felt like mush. I tried to contact customer service for a replacement for this defective item that was sent to me and I was told it was a refill sent on accident. I then opened the product to which the entire bottle was cracked with sharp edges jutting out. I nearly cut my finger. The soap then spilt all over my desk in which I knew would happen if I opened the box, but the customer service rep informed me it was a wrong product (refill) and I wanted to make sure it was not.
I've purchased this brand from many department stores, Nordstrom being the last I will purchase it from again. I understand that situations do occur in travel, but this seemed to be broken leaving the warehouse since the box it was shipped in was not completed destroyed. What irks me is the customer service rep could not even help me with the request for a refund on the spot, she had to send it through to a team "to be reviewed" even though I provided her with photos of the defective product. I now had to place a new order and have to wait for my refund to be returned.. a customer service team SHOULD be able to refund me for a defective item. That's what a customer service team is for! With so many options for department stores, Nordstrom should take a few tips from the others.

I would have given 5 stars but...
The pump broke after using about 1/3 of the bottle. The soap is great - love the smell, guests love it and remark about it but the pump broke. I ordered a bottle as a gift to my daughter and requested an additional pump to replace mine. They very nicely sent me a new pump. It also broke shortly after using it. Then, my daughter said how much she loved it but the pump broke. Seriously? Do something about the cheap pump!

Actual product does not look like advertised
I’ve been wanting to try out this soap because my hand is so dry. I was so excited when purchasing this item today and only to feel so disappointed when I opened the box. The color of the soap is not the same as the product image! At first, I thought that the salesperson in Nordstrom gave me the wrong product but no, the box displayed softening hand wash. Now I am in doubt and not sure if I should use it as I am suspecting it expires. I’ll return the product tomorrow. This is absolute the worst purchase that I have made. Very disappointed in Diptyque since they are marketed as a luxury brand.

It's a no for me
This smells like old people and it dried up my hands immediately. I was also not expecting a plastic pump with such a heavy glass bottle.

pretty but not practical
I’m a huge diptyque fan and was excited to try what I thought would be a staple for all my powder rooms. But this soap is disappointing. The scent is just Ok, the container is substantial, but the soap is just way too viscous! Too much is dispensed with each pump and it takes forever to get it all off. In between washings, the spout drips so your pretty container gets gooey, requiring a regular scrub. I won’t purchase again :(

different color
I purchased this hoping the amber color of the soap would be a nice accent in my bathroom. The actual product was a milky honey color, not at all the rich color shown in the photos.
