I purchased the large size of this candle in the Roses scent. I will promptly return it. The candle arrived from Nordstrom inside the Diptyque box and sealed in plastic. It did not appear to have been tampered with or returned by a previous customer. When I opened the candle, I was surprised to see wax remnants spread around the top rim of the glass. The presentation was unsightly. Additionally, the top of the wick was buried inside the wax. There was no section at the top to light the candle. I gently turned the candle upside down to see if the wick showed on the bottom and the entire candle fell out of the glass, breaking a section of the wax off onto my counter. I have never experienced these quality control issues with a candle, at any price point. I purchased a second large Diptyque candle in the Vanilla scent that shipped in the same Nordstrom box and it had none of these quality control issues. At Diptyque's price point, I expect consistent quality control.
