What it is: An irresistibly warm and smoky scent of fire wood reminiscent of a winter day huddled by the fire.
Fragrance story: In the hearth, a fire roars, throwing out its light and casting shadows. The wood crackles as flames slowly consume the logs, releasing their dense, smoky scent. The iconic oval label is deeply rooted in diptyque’s story. The thread of inspiration runs from ancient Rome to the fabric designs created during the early days of the diptyque adventure.

How to use: The first time you burn your diptyque candle, allow it to burn for at least two hours until the whole top is liquid with wax to help it burn more evenly next time. Before lighting, trim the wick to 1/4-inch length, which will allow the candle to burn slowly and will help avoid black marks around the edge of the glass. After blowing out the candle, recenter and straighten the wick.

Stunning smoky smell
This candle has a very woody, smoky smell, and works beautifully on it's own or paired with other scents - vanilla, eucalyptus, caramel to name a few. It burns evenly even if you are terrible at candle care (like myself) so there is no need to baby it - just light and enjoy!

Not my scent
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I know this is much loved by so many but for me it’s a no! I kept seeing this scent recommended and I loved boy smells ash so waited til I was in store to smell before purchasing. I will give feedback that space nk you need to let the shops throw out the old stock that’s been on display and but put new candles from time to time as not one of the candles actually smelt of anything bearing in mind how strong Diptyque is generally so it’s not doing them a good service having candles that have been on display years advertising the scents. Proof that there’s no scent is once I got this one home and opened the strength of this candle was so so strong and overpowering and smelt like smoked bacon to me. I actually mentioned on a chat forum how I can’t believe how little it smelt in the shop and others agreed that it’s impossible to smell the candles in their local stores too as they’ve been on display so long. For reference the feu de bois wax was blue in store, it’s meant to be grey!

Not the best
Unfortunately this smelt like soil/smoke and like a burning smell. I received it as a gift with a Diptyque purchase and was not impressed. They have better ones, unless you’re into candles that smell like burning wood. It’s unique I have to admit but I prefer their gourmand perfumes from the brand.

Lovely
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Lovely woody scent. Unisex so if you live with a man they won’t be complaining about it smelling floral and girly. Great scent for the living room, particularly in autumn and winter. Great for a winter event not around the Christmas period but still feels like winter and great for the colder months

Don't be scared of the initial smoke scent!!
I was not a fan when I first smelled this one. It was really heavy on the smoke and I couldn't smell anything else. I got it as a gift though and wanted to make sure I tried it out properly.
When I burned it, a whole new layer unveiled and it took on this deep incense-like smell. Honestly gorgeous and suddenly one of the best candles I've had.
So please burn if you're initially not a fan of the scent, it takes on a while new smell!

Cosy Christmas candle
I absolutely adore the Diptyque Feu De Bois candle. It smells exactly as described, an open log fire. It’s cosy and woody and just perfect for Christmas. Received one as a. Birthday gift and just couldn’t wait to light it. The smell fills the room and lingers on. Looks stunning on my fireplace. Beautiful packaging too.
