I wanted to live this. For $69 I really wanted to live this. The scent is underwhelming and the way the wax sits in the jar is reminiscent of something you’d find in an overstock outlet store. There are “ air gaps” creating an awful inconsistency that looks cheap. I’m sitting here thinking to myself..did I really just spend $69 for this? Gosh, I don’t know what to say other than don’t waste your money.

you can get almost the exact same scent by buying the Henri Bendel candle in Black Currant. It is $30 for a 9.4 oz candle or two for $50. The Diptyque candles may be a tiny bit stronger but the Bendel candles are very strong too and the scent is just as nice. I've had both brands; the Bendel is what I have repurchased.

I'm a huge fan of the Diptyque scents. I've tried more affordable candles in the past, but consistently return to Diptyque for the quality of the candles. One small Diptyque can fill my entire place and the scent lingers for hours. Unfortunately, some of the scents are extremely headache inducing - which is absolutely a personal issue, but something to be warned of. This might be simply because these candles are so strong - you have to love it, or you'll hate it. Although I'm picky with scents, I've never thought myself very sensitive to strong smells, but I found Baies and Roses to both be incredibly headache inducing. One hour into the burn of my little sample Baies sample and I had to air out my place. To be fair, the first couple of times I smelled both Baies and Roses, I wasn't keen on the scent, and what I ended up trying out were samples I received when I bought other candles. It might just be that scents that seem "meh" in the unlit version become unbearable when lit. Other Diptyques that were fine for me: Feu de Bois, the entirety of the 2016 holiday collection. Just watch out!

This is my first Diptyque candle purchase. The Baies scent has lovely floral notes. I have it displayed on my bedroom dresser with a cloche to preserve the scent. I prefer the cloche to the Diptyque candle lid. The price is high for the standard candle size. However, I would like to buy a few more in different scents for my fireplace mantle, coffee table and bathroom.

Very disappointed. I've purchased many other Diptyque candles (directly from a Diptyque boutique, in person) so when I received the Baies candle from Nordstrom in the mail I knew something was off. The candle wax was smeared / crumbled all over the top of the glass rim, which should have been clean. Around the actual glass body of the candle, the wax looked warped/melted. The short wick was mashed down into the candle. The iconic label on the front of the candle looked slightly scratched in some places. I cleaned the top of the glass rim and will keep it, but this isn't the quality/presentation I expect from an expensive, beautiful candle like Diptyque.

This candle has to be THE most fragrant candle I have ever burned. A soft scent that fills the entire house. Worth the $ spent!
