Heel surround is flexible, not rigid, which helps with Achilles tendon pain. Fits well in wide width with 3/4 Birkenstock arch inserts. Please do not discontinue this shoe.

The comfort is Great, the design not so much
This is my second pair of Devotion 3 plus shoes; they are a replacement for the first pair. With both pairs, the first time I put them on, the leather slits holding the shoelace ripped out. At this point, three of them have ripped out. The shoes are comfortable, but I've had to work around ripped leather to keep them laced.

Ryka Womens Devotion Plus 3
I am very happy with of these sneakers. They are the most comfortable I have worn in many years.
My only issue is the rubber at the top of the toe start to rip away on the right one after 3 wearings. I am not returning them for fear of not getting them again in my size. ( 12 ) Not easy to find. Hopefully they last a good long time.
