What it is: A plant-based, vegan cleansing oil that is the first step in dermalogica's Double Cleanse regimen.

What it does: Thoroughly melt away makeup, sunscreen and daily pollution buildup with the Double Cleanse regimen. This lightweight cleansing oil is formulated with a blend of nourishing olive and kukui oils to purify pores and deep clean residual products that build up on your skin throughout the day. It can even be used around the eye area to wash away even the toughest waterproof mascara without leaving behind a residue.
How to use: Dispense into dry hands. Massage over dry face and eyes to dissolve surface oil and dirt. Concentrate on areas of congestion or stubborn debris. Wet hands and continue massaging to create a lightweight, milky emulsion. Rinse with lukewarm water.

Must have in skin routine
I was introduced to this product a little over a year ago at my first Dermalogica facial in NYC. I had been using the "double cleanse" method prior to my facial with other cleansing oils, such as Origins Clean Energy and Nude Skincare Perfect Cleanse Omega Jelly (both of which are also great). Right when my esthetician started massaging this product onto my skin, I felt AMAZING. The natural and fresh aroma of the oil is so just so relaxing, I honestly feel like I am in-store getting a facial every time I use this. In addition to the amazing smell, it takes off every trace of makeup, dirt, and oil without over drying your skin. After using this product at night time, I am perfectly prepped for my Clarisonic and Special Cleansing Gel. Even though I mainly love this stuff because it takes off all of my makeup, it is also great because it removes dirt, oil, and any traces of skin care products used throughout the day before going in with a real face wash, allowing your skin to get the maximum benefits out of your preferred cleanser. My husband is totally hooked on this as well! This is probably the one skin care product I could never live without or replace.
For reference, my skin type is pretty sensitive, dehydrated, and at times can be slightly oily along my t-zone. I also use Retin-A, so I am always in need of products that are calming and hydrating, but that won't clog my pores or cause me to breakout.
My husband's skin is SUPER sensitive, he deals with redness, occasional breakouts, and he is also dehydrated with the occasional oily t-zone. He also uses Retin-A.

Broke me out
This precleanser / makeup remover didn’t melt my makeup easily and clogged my pores resulting in many breakouts after using it. I first didn’t know what had been causing my sudden breakouts but the only new product in my routine was this precleanser. Definitely would not recommend
this overpriced pore clogging makeup remover. Don’t purchase.

Gets the job done
I am use to using organic argan oil to remove my makeup. This is much thinner and seems I need to use more. But it does the job. Rinses off easily and completely. The smell is similar to cannabis, which I find odd. But I'm ok with it. It is pricey compared to my argan oil. And since it doesnt do anything my argan oil doesnt do I probably wont repurchase. Especially, since the price point is so much higher. But again, it's a good product and does exactly what it is suppose to do.

Melts the makeup away
I love a good cake face. I wear lots of makeup because I love it! And I use waterproof everything! This melts my makeup away so effortlessly. I don't have to pull or tug my face to remove it. Pleasant smell and texture as well. I've seen a real difference in my pores and skin texture. I will repurchase.

Clean
I used this before my cleanser to help lift any make up and dirt from the day. It's a lovely oil texture that works hard and effectively to prepare the skin for a cleanse. It doesn't foam and doesn't have a strong smell but it feels lovely and gentle and iv used it on eyes with no irritation and it makes removing make up so much easier

Good base step but high in price
This cleansing oil is great for removing makeup and sunscreen without harsh rubbing. It emulsifies well with water and rinses off clean, leaving skin soft rather than greasy. I especially like it as a first cleanse at night because it breaks down foundation and mascara quickly. That said, it doesn’t do much beyond cleansing. There’s no noticeable brightening or treatment benefit, it’s purely functional. The texture is thin, which some people love, but others may prefer something richer. It also runs out quite quickly if you use it daily. It’s reliable and gentle, but not exciting. A good base step, just not a standout luxury product.

this was one of my first precleanse products years ago when I started double cleanse routine and every so often when I get it again, I remember how good it is. I wouldn't just exclusively use it as there are other good products but it is definitely in my rotation. It cleanses well and rinses well without leaving a sticky residue like some others, the skin feels hydrated and comfortable after using it. Nice one.
