Love at first try-on
This is my first pair EVER of Frye boots and I’m in love. They are perfect in every way. I’ve only worn them once and they’re comfortable and I didn’t want to take them off. I’m still breaking them in of course but upon initial try-on I felt so powerful I don’t know how to describe it. I absolutely believe these boots are the kind that get better with time and wear because I’m already obsessed after I’ve only worn them once! I’ll wear these at work or to a night out. I’ll pair these with all kinds of crew/long socks and shorts or pants or whatever because these will look good with everything. I adore my Fryes!

Style Change?
I was disppointed to receive the Dean Moto boots. I had own a similar pair and wanted to replace them. The new boots are darker in color and have very thick rubber sole. I was ok having to order a darker boot, but thought they have a thiner leather sole like the ones I was replacing.

Stiff Leather
I had these back in the day and wore them everywhere. I’m not sure of the brand I had then. But the leather on this is stiff and hard. It may be made of cowhide as these are made in Mexico. I just don’t have the patience to break them in. I did order them in a size 11, because at the time I placed my order, the 11.5, my true size, was not available, and the 11s fit perfectly. I found a pair similar to this by Dolce & Gabbana, which I purchased at Nordstrom too and I hope those are comfortable right out of the box.

Closer to combat boots than dress boots.
The rubber sole is much larger than my previous pair.
These resemble combat boots more than dress boots. They are nice but what arrived is not what was expected.
I am now on the hunt for boots with a sleeker toe and less pronounced sole. Too bad the older style is no longer available.

Poor quality
I have a few “vintage” pairs of Frye boots that I love and thought I’d get a new pair for myself but I’m super disappointed. The stitching wasn’t done well and the leather just feels like it’s gone down in quality drastically.
