Daylite Plus LTD Backpack

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this pack to use as a carry-on for vacations that are active. The size works well for me and fits me comfortably (5’ 4”). I like it but do not love it due to two design flaws: First, the shove-it pocket is unreliable. While using it for first time at the airport last week, a hat that I had put in the shove-it pocket fell out. The pocket clip on one side had disengaged, allowing contents to spill out. I assumed that I had improperly latched the pocket. I put the small hat in the pocket again, ensured the clips were latched, and securely tightened the compression straps. Shortly thereafter, the pocket became unclipped again on one side, spilling contents. Needless to say, I stopped using that pocket, which is why I bought this particular pack. (I have the Hikelite as well but wanted a shove pocket). Even with nothing placed in the shove pocket, the pocket unclipped after walking for a short period of time, with one side dangling. Second, the location of the compression straps makes it a bit awkward to open/close the bag. I can live with this as I appreciate the compression feature. Bottom line: The regular Daylite has different clips that apparently are secure. The limited edition cost $50 more, with “premium hardware”, and was not money well spent in my case.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Seems well built and the water resistance should be good. I haven't had it out in the rain yet nor tested it by pouring water on it. The only drawback I see is the compression straps. The regular Daylite Plus uses plastic clips and this uses metal hooks. The hooks have come unhooked several times and the zippers have gotten hung up in the hooks several times. Because of this and a lack of loops anywhere else on it there is nowhere to clip a carabiner to hang something off the back of the pack.
