Gift for Mom
I bought this as a Christmas present for my Mom and I think she is going to love it! I love it so much that I want one for myself! The Black Orchid stone is so unique. Depending on the lighting it can look like it is smoky purple, navy blue, or a deep sultry gray. It is gorgeous!

Such a sinking disappointment
When I first saw this pendant in black orchid I was mesmerized and immediately put it in my wish list. For months I watched and hoped it would not sell out before I could afford to purchase it. It's been a very long while since a piece of jewelry resulted in a level of excitement not felt in a very long time. Finally, I bought it as a gift for my 68th birthday then waited on pins and needles for it to arrive. This was destined to be worn every day. When it was delivered and I opened the packaging I felt a bit numb getting my first glance. It is so small (1/4" stone) I hardly could breath then felt the welling of tears as my heart shattered from a broken dream. The size of the stone is more befitting a child. I cannot imagine why David Yurman would design a pendant so pricey and inferior. I had such high hopes for a happy birthday that dematerialized in an instant.

I own several David Yurman pieces and was not happy with this piece. It is beautiful but, I think for the price I expected a better quality piece. I’ve purchased other pieces for way less and they were a better quality. So, I returned it.

Beautiful
Love this necklace. It also has an option to wear a little shorter which makes it even more versatile. Only complaint that I have is that the pendant doesn't move very smoothly on the chain and often gets "stuck" and the clasp works its way around to the front.
