Ultra Bootie (Women)

I measure a 7W on my Lt foot, & a 7.5WW on my Rt foot. I also have bunions so I hate shopping for shoes more than I hate shopping for swimsuits! It’s so hard to find a decent attractive shoe with a wide toe box, that will still fit my normal width heels. But the one pair of shoes I wear with jeans is wearing out after 15 yrs. I read about these online in article for people with bunions/wide feet. I was skeptical as it’s about the 98th pair of booties I’ve tried.... but THEY FIT! I’m guessing because these David Tate’s ‘Wide Width’ is a D width, and not the usual C width that other shoe makers have based their wide widths. FINALLY, a shoe maker gets it!! I bought an 8W (out of habit of always sizing up to accommodate my wide foot & bunion), and tried them on with a medium thick sock. But I’m going to try a 7.5W as well since there’s still about 1/2” in front and my heel lifts a bit when I walk. I usually wear thinner socks with booties but could easily wear a thicker one with this shoe. The footbed is NOT padded much at all but I added a ball of foot pad and they felt perfectly comfortable when I walked in them.

I wanted to love these because I’m obsessed with the three pairs of David state sandals I own. The sandals are so comfy and I wore them constantly while traveling and walking in Europe. The sandals feature soft cushy padding on the soles and I hoped these would have a similar feel but they didn’t. The soles and toe of the bootie were hard (not firm) and they were no different than an average bootie. Compared to the quality of the sandals these were below brand expectations.
