[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was given these products in exchange for my honest review. The set, Daily Defenders for the Ages, which included a face wash, moisturizer, eye repair cream, and a cute little travel bag to hold it all, comes nicely as expected being Kiehl's products. Being a loyal Kiehl's fan, I was pumped to try it out, but I gotta say, I was sadly let down for the most part.
Let's start with the face wash. It's your basic cleanser—nothing fancy, no fireworks, just a standard "let's get the dirt off your face" situation. It did the job, but if you're looking for something that'll make you feel like you're washing your face with angel tears, this ain't it.
The moisturizer? Well, I wanted to love it, I really did, but it was a bit too oily for my taste. My face looked like I could fry an egg on it. And the scent… let's just say, if you've ever wanted to smell like you just wrestled a pine tree, this is your moment. It's strong, it's woodsy, it's… lingering. Way longer than I'd have liked.
Now, the star of this skincare soap opera was definitely the eye repair cream. I've had my fair share of eye creams that either drip all over my face or make me look like I've been basting myself in oil, but this one? It's a thick, whipped dream. It stays exactly where you want it, targets those under-eye bags like a champ, and feels amazing. It's like a tiny miracle in a jar, making up for the rest of the so-so experience.
So, while the bundle as a whole was a mixed bag, the eye cream was a total winner and will definitely continue to use and purchase the eye repair individually.
