Herringbone Tweed Blazer

I ordered this in preppy red, which is pictured on the website as having a bright vermillion/coral collar. The item is also described as "pop of contrast under the collar." The item I received had a black collar. Pretty boring and bland, especially for the price. I'm 5'2" and usually wear a size 2 or 4 for jackets. I ordered the 4 - shoulders were ok, a bit on the roomy side. But the hem and sleeves were too long for me. This went back.

The jacket I received did not have the bright red, “pop of contrast” under the collar, as described and pictured here. The collar on my jacket was black. Makes the jacket kind of bland and ordinary. Not really special enough for the price. Sleeves and hem were also long on me. This is going back.

Bought this in 4 and 6, and in "True Camel" and "Preppy Red". For both colors, I thought the fabric patterns looked better on the website than in person. The blazers were both sort of wrinkled, soft and frumpy (not structured like a quality blazer). Both the 4 and 6 were way too large in the waist. For reference, I'm 5'8", 136lb, 32D. Might have been correctable via alterations but since I didn't love the blazers to begin with, they both went back.

If I recall correctly, this jacket has shoulder pads underneath the lining, so I couldn't remove them without going to a tailor. On people like myself with broad shoulders, this looks completely ridiculous. Other than that, I liked the coat. My measurements are bust 38 (underbust 36), waist 30, hips 42, and this fit well.... for a better fit in the waist I would have wanted to take it in. Of note, I'm 5'8" and I found the sleeves to be a bit short. I'd want them to hit just above my thumb, but they hit at my wrist. That being said, the fabric was lovely and it's a fun jacket. So if you're shorter and less curvy than me and you don't mind shoulderpads, try this out.

The color is on point, a perfect tweed with hues of black & white running through it. This blazer is extremely high quality, the buttons add nice detail, & I love the black detail under the collar. The fit is exceptional as well. This blazer hits right around the top of my thigh, covering half of my backside, so great length. Oh, & it's actually really warm, so great for a cold office or in the winter. I am in love, def keeping. The only con, is I noticed a loose thread near the tags. So I'm going to take it in to Nordstrom to repair.
