Chuck Taylor^® All Star^® Lugged Heel Platform Mary Jane (Women)

These shoes have a very long look, making my size 7 feet look like maybe a size 9! They were too narrow at the ball of the foot and I suspect that's part of the visual problem. But also, they are very heavyweight shoes and just taking them out of the box surprised me with the weight. I decided not to keep them for these two reasons together, but even if they had looked good while remaining heavy I would have sent them back. Heavy shoes (especially sneakers) are always difficult to deal with. Shame, because in the Egret color they were just what I was looking for, kind of a creamy version of DMs 8065 mary jane.

These run about a half size large (I’m typically a 9; the 8.5 was perfect). I was looking for a Doc Martin style but “broken in.” These Converse were comfy out of the box, great cushioning insole, plus a bit of height from the lug soles. I wish I could love them, but the rubber oval toe makes them look very “sassy orthopedic” to me.
