- We recommend hand-washing to extend the life of your mat. The mats may also be machine washed, but only on a gentle cycle using a machine without a center agitator. Use mild soap when washing the mat to avoid damaging its surface. Hang the mat to dry away from direct sunlight to prevent fading and damage. When rolling up the mat, make sure to roll it with the patterned side facing outwards to prevent the mat from creasing or getting damaged.

My New Favorite Yoga Mat Brand
I love my new Yoga Design Lab mat. It’s thin and lightweight - which is perfect for me. I live in southern Arizona and do “hot” yoga outside four times a week, so I need something easy to carry around and easy to clean. Previously, I had a 1.5 mm travel mat from Lululemon. It was great but over time got stinky and ripped up. Plus it was black and got scalding hot in the sun. This Yoga Design Lab mat replaces it and I like it even better. The suede-like topside provides excellent grip and I went with the mountain/sky design for its lighter color palette (no more burnt soles of my feet!). The lighter colors show sweat and Arizona dust, but the mat is easy to clean. I wash it off in my bathtub with warm water and dish soap, then hang outside to dry. It looks brand new again. Oh! And the mat comes with a free, good-quality carrying strap.
