Colorblock Plaid Trench Coat

I thought I loved this coat when I got it a month ago, but while walking my dog, she saw a squirrel and the whole side seem from underarm to thigh gave out. The material in the pocket is ripped and the wool near the pocket is also ripped. I’ve been walking my dog for years and have never had a coat just surrender like this. It is incredibly disappointing. As for sizing I did get a larger size than normal to make sure I would have the freedom to lift my arms (I have wider shoulders) and I do suspect a small would have been a problem. But clearly with the lackluster stitching size was not the problem . The whole coat is quite large on me, comes down to my lower calf and past my hands, which is great when it’s cold and the whole side seem hasn’t just ripped out, the sleeves can be rolled up but it suits me… suited me… You know, as long as you don’t do something athletic like walk down stairs or breathe too deeply. Definitely don’t walk the dog.

Beautiful coat, well made, warm, & totally on trend. However, sizing is tricky; I’m a tiny woman w/broad shoulders. I’m a 33,24,33 & I originally purchased an XS. The XS was tight in the shoulders and the arms were a little too short for me. I wanted an oversized laid back look. So I sized up to a MED & it’s great. The MED provides longer sleeves that hit just at the knuckles. Not sure if a SM would have given me the look I was going for. Overall very happy.
