Wakefield Grand Waterproof Chelsea Boot

I am not sure why others give such praise to these boots. Every year I buy the Cole Haan chelsea boot (for probably tens years straight now), and this has to be the poorest quality they have yet released. First, the interior is cloth lined. Sorry, but a chelsea boot, especially at this price point, should not be cloth lined. Cloth interior is reserved for low quality, low priced, footwear. Try placing your foot, with a sock, inside a cloth lined slip on boot. Not easy. Not to mention cloth lining quickly wears. Second, the leather is quite stiff. The previous version of this boot has a nice leather lining, and much better leather. As much as I love Cole Haan chelsea boots, I would wait until this fall when the next version is released, or simply buy a better but similarly priced chelsea boot on the Nordstrom website (there are a few).

The boot opening is too wide and the shoe runs narrow making the fit either too narrow or too loose. I'm usually a 8 and tried a 7.5 and 8, neither were comfortable.

I bought this to go to Vancouver for a small vacation, and knowing there was going to be rain (and potentially snow) in the areas we were headed, I definitely needed a last minute option for stylish and weatherproof boots. In socal we typically are fine to get regular boots (without proofing) or simple casual shoes for sunny days. Though these boots are very comfy to stand in, I wouldn't recommend them for long walks. We walked for a long ways in Canada, whether it be roaming the city and shops, or taking a longer stroll through the parks. The area between the ankle and back of the shoe can be loose fitting and the constant walking made it feel like it was rubbing the area. And I don't believe my shoe picked was "too big" since when I sized down the toe area felt suffocated. So even with this "right fit", for long walks it made my ankle area uncomfortable. Again, for standing though and casual work wear it seems nice. Comfortability: 3/5 Functionality: 5/5 (forgot to mention that these worked fine in the rain!) Looks: 5/5!

I always like the fit and comfort of Cole Hann shoes. First Boot and still not disappointed.

These are my husbands all time favorite shoes. He likes them so much, I bought them for him in two colors and got backup pairs too, haha! He says they are extremely comfy, easy to slide on and off, and you can dress them up and down. They are great for every season also!

My husband wore this with a dark gray suit. He got many compliments and he couldn’t stop raving about how comfortable his shoes were. He’s a big fan of Cole Haan and these boots didn’t disappoint.
