I own a similar pair of Cole Haan's and never had an issue with them. The difference between my old pair and this new pair is the stitching at the bottom between the sole and the upper. On my old pair, that was actually stitching that reinforced the bond between sole and upper. On this pair, that is only decorative, and the two pieces are not actually stitched together. Someone stepped on my heel while walking and the upper separated from the sole.
