Bib Insert Down & Feather Fill Coat

As a South Florida girl who has moved to Pennsylvania I was in desperate need of a solid winter coat that could brave the cold and wind and snow. I am very happy to say that this coat is everything that I could want from a winter coat. The hood is bigger, and fixed on, which I thought would be ugly/a nuisance, but the hood has already saved me in vicious winds and sleet. The hood does not fall down like some others do. The length is perfect, and about reaches my knees (I am 5'10") and provides good insulation throughout. There is also some waist definition, so you don't look like a blob. I would not survive without this!!

I was reluctant to purchase this in navy instead of black, but boy am I glad I did!! It is a lovely navy color, very denim friendly, and not as boring as black. The bib insert is a big plus to help keep you warm, (especially if you're not completely "zipped up")', and the fact that the hood is not so huge that it falls down over your eyes, will make this my first coat EVER where I will be able to use the hood, and still be able to see. I usually am not fond of hoods, but this one doesn't feel like it's "pulling you down" in the back, nor does it feel uncomfortable, or bulky, while driving. I'm not sure how to explain the fit....I am 5'1" tall, and the sleeves are not too long for me, and I don't own a single garment that I haven't had to have the sleeves altered. The length falls about 2" below my knee. For me, this is great, but you taller gals with long arms, may not be as pleased, therefore I would almost call this coat a "petite" fit.

I live in Buffalo NY, and am subject to frigid winters. This coat does keep me warm, the inside bib zip is also very helpful in holding in the heat. The navy color is very classy, and goes well with the gold tone buttons. I am 5'6", 135 lbs, and the medium fit me perfectly. I can wear heavy sweaters under it, and I still don't look bulky. I like how the waist is gathered, it gives me a nice shape outline. The reason I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is the sleeves. They should have added some elastic, or cotton material to keep the sleeves from riding up. So, my wrists get cold. The way to solve that would be to buy longer gloves. Despite the sleeves I am keeping the coat, it is something I will wear for years to come.

This coat is very good looking for a puffer. Cinches at the waist so you don’t look like a blob. I agree the exterior zipper isn’t the easiest to use but I doubt that will bug me much while I’m out and about. The hood is huge and fashionable. Overall the jacket is very heavy and feels very substantial. I am 5’8” and about 118lb with a large chest and the small fit perfectly, even with a Patagonia bette sweater on underneath. I would say it is true to size/a tad small. If you want to wear something thicker than a fleece underneath, then I would size up. The graphite color is a gorgeous deep charcoal with almost a flash of forest green.
