American Classics Penny Loafer (Men)

It has been a long time since I’ve been so happy with a pair of shoes. I’m a bit of a shoe nut and I am always in search of the Holy Grail of shoes, which might explain why my closet is overflowing with them. Out of almost 50 pair of shoes, there are precious few that I would describe as ‘perfect’. But these definitely are perfect. I love these shoes because they are a perfect blend of styles; the shiny patent leather gives a formal first impression while the industrial oversized lug soles issue counterpoint that imbues them with a bit of casual-ness. The soles’ have a blocky/toothy geometry about them which commands attention and gives a very modern finish that will pair perfectly with any pants. They can be dressed up or down and they seem to be sturdy and made well. They are really comfortable and I received a number of compliments the first day I wore them. And, as someone with size 12 feet, they don’t look as big as most shoes do, which is great. Note that based on other customer reviews which stated that they run a bit large, I ordered 1/2 sizes down (11-1/2 instead of 12) and they fit like a dream. I don’t know how anybody wouldn’t love these shoes. Can’t recommend them enough. In fact, I’m not sure I’ve ever made a review on shoes before but that’s how much I love these. I just felt like I had to.
