true wraps are the best
long story short, i just tried this on and my first impressions are great
a bit about myself:
i am 34G in Natori bras (39-40 at fullest), 33ish waist, 44 hips. i can appear top heavy or blobbish if i dont wear the right things. i am picky about the sensations of fabric.
it is always a challenge to find something off the rack that just works. ive yet to start taking things to the tailor, but thats the direction im heading.
except, wraps are usually perfect. you can adjust them to your exact waist size and can lead them toward being less cropped if thats your thing. true wrap tops (like this one) dont tend to dig in or hang too loose. this one does a good job being not too cropped! i got an XL and i might have done better with a large.
anyway, for all the people with larger tops who are trying to accentuate the size less and make our waists look 'snatched', this checks all the boxes. a not-high neckline that breaks up the area visually, a darker color, and a close fit. the visual sweeping of the fabric points eyes to the circumference of the waist. i pair mine with a baggier, brighter bottom to accentuate my lower body (despite it being bigger around in inches, it looks smaller for some reason).
the fabric is a heathered mix of gray and black that appears charcoal from afar. all the stitches are in tact; the craftsmanship seems sturdy. if hold the fabric up to the light, i can see dots peering through, but especially with the dark, I'm not worried about it being see through. i'd wear it to work so long as i pinned the wrap shut. (i work from home as a software developer so I'm not too concerned on a day to day basis, but since mine is a size larger than i need, the pin is necessary, especially with the terrain change it has to deal with). I'd feel great wearing this out on errands. the fabric feels soft, but not buttery soft, more like microfiber soft.
