What it is: A silky eyeliner pencil that lines and defines with ease.
What it does: The eyeliner twists up, glides on and smudges to a smooth blur of transfer-resistant color. It never needs sharpening. The pencil delivers long-wearing color that's transfer-resistant, water-resistant and smudge-resistant.
How to use: Swivel eyeliner up only 1/8-inch (pencil does not retract to avoid exposing formula to air, which is drying). Line eyes. Use smudging tool on the opposite end to gently smudge color. Allow color to set for 60 seconds to ensure transfer-resistance.

Clinique Quick liner for eyes intense
I ordered the Clinique eye liner because, as I age, my eyelids are a bit crapy and are hard to line evenly. This eyeliner is great for older eyes. The line is smooth, and easy to use. The color (Intense Clove) is good for someone who doesn’t want a strong heavy black line on their eyelid.

Not happy with product
As this product was recommended to me I don't feel it's not what I'm looking for. I find the pencil not gliding on & giving me the effect it's supposed to give. The turning of the pencil is awful. Going back to NARS

Clinique Quickliner Intense: Not as intense as gel
I used the original Quickliner, then Quickliner Intense when it came out, in Aubergine, Charcoal, Midnight and Plum. Pros: many colors, easy to use, travel friendly, no sharpening needed, pencil body reflects product color, more color payoff than the original Quickliner but not as much as gel liner. Cons: It fades, smudged under my eyes. The non-retractable swivel was frustrating, the end broke off a lot so I lost product, control, and the point. Impossible to sharpen and do tightlining between the lashes. I switched to gel liner pencil and gel pot with brush for color intensity, all day wear and more control.

fantastic eyeliner pencil, beats liquid eyeliner
I AM HOOKED ON THIS PENCIL EYELINER!!!!!!!! HAVE BEEN USING LIQUID EYELINER FOR YEARS, WHICH TOOK ME FOREVER TO GET ON LIDS PERFECTLY. I NEVER THOUGHT I WOULD FIND AN AUTOMATIC EYELINER PENCIL THAT WAS SO SOFT, THAT NEVER MOVED, EVEN IN HIGH WINDS (and my eyes are always tearing)AND THAT DID A BETTER JOB OF LOOKING SO GREAT. I HAVE SINCE REORDERED ANOTHER ONE IN CHARCOAL AND ONE IN THE PLUM (WHICH COLOR I ALSO ADORE)...MAKES MY HAZEL EYES POP!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, TAKES NO TIME AT ALL TO LINE MY EYES, TOP AND BOTTOM. A TIP LADIES: I ALWAYS USE A BEIGE COLOR PENCIL ON MY BOTTOM LID...THEN APPLY THE INTENSE EYELINER OVER IT...IT GIVES A SOFTER BUT REALLY FANTASTIC LOOK TO THE EYES. TRY IT..YOU WILL BE AMAZED!!!!!!!!!

creamy soft
B/c the pencil is creamy/soft, there is no tugging of the sensitive skin around the eyes. Glides on smoothly and highly pigmented. I got intense clove and peridot. Are great for brown eyes. Clove is brownish gray with shimmer which is great; doesn't look harsh on your eyes. I don't like black eyeliner for that reason. Peridot is a beautiful olive greenish brownish golden color. Looks great in creating no-makeup makeup look. Furthermore, once the liner sets it does not budge. You can comfortably have the liner last 5+ hrs. Now for the negatives: b/c the formula is so creamy, the tip gets mangled easily and it is hard to get crisp hard edge around the eyes ie winged eyes. Also the mechanic to get the pencil up needs improvement. It takes a lot of turns to get the pencil up and it does NOT go back down! So be cautious. Moreover, the smudging end needs to be softer. Lastly, do leave the pencil in a cool area; warm weather will most likely melt it given its creaminess.

Alternative to regular Quickliner
I gave this a try in charcoal after using regular Quickliner in slate for many years. It applies as nicely. The color is indeed intense.....appears black. I will use only occasionally when I want a more dramatic effect. It deserves 5 stars if you prefer a more intense effect. I prefer the softer effect of regular Quickliner.
