Hello! My name is Bree and I am a compounding pharmacist, so skincare is my speciality and I am always looking to try new products and recommend them to my patients. I am also personally always looking for new facial sunscreens, as I am extremely fair-skinned and an advocate for wearing SPF 30+ all-year round. That being said, I really loved how seamlessly this moisturizer blended into my skin without leaving the white residue that many zinc-based products often do. Although my medical training has taught me to look for combination sunscreen made of both natural and synthetic ingredients for the broadest coverage, I tend to gravitate towards the more organic options. I tend to have normal-to-dry skin and this moisturizer was just enough to keep my face feeling hydrated throughout the day and without that heavy feeling like it was sitting on my skin. I also appreciated the fact that the product did not ball up/roll off when applying CC cream and powder after, as many sunscreens tend to do. I absolutely love how lightweight and thin this formula is! It absorbs super quickly, which makes it an amazing base before makeup—no pilling, no mixing weirdly with foundation, and no separation throughout the day. It just melts right into the skin! One of my favorite things about this moisturizer is that it contains niacinamide. Since my T-zone can get a little oily and I do experience breakouts here and there (especially when I’m stressed or wearing products for long hours), I really appreciate having an SPF that also helps keep my skin balanced. The only thing I noticed is that on certain days—especially when I wasn’t wearing makeup—I needed a little extra hydration everywhere except my T-zone. But overall, this is such a great daily SPF that feels like skincare rather than sunscreen. Definitely a must-try if you want something light, breathable, and perfect for combination or breakout-prone skin!

The COOLA Clear Skin Oil-Free Moisturizer was a thicker consistency. It worked well with my Kbeauty products because it has a light consistency of K-beauty products and standards. Coola matches perfectly with my daily routine. I love the formulas in Coola, especially the niacinamide. The niacinamide kept my face and oil balanced, bright soft and clear. The Centella Asiatica smoothed out a few wrinkles that are beginning to perk through and it has great antioxidants. It is a well rounded product. Unfortunately, I saw a cast of white on my face, but as I continued to rub it in the, white cast lessened. I rubbed in a circular motion and my skin color started to return. As a women of color this concerned me but I am sure with a little time and rubbing- this will dissipate each time. As a woman with dry skin, the dryer texture concerned me as an older woman. My skin is mature and dry, I discovered if I add extra moisturizer and take extra time I can lessen the white cast and have additional hydration. This makes COOLA Clear Skin Oil-Free Moisturizer fit my daily routine. I used Coola once a day for at least two weeks. Consistency is the key to great success of a great product.
