Choco Mascarpone Candle

Okay, I guess I'm only making this review BECAUSE this candle is getting a bad rap. This candle is without a doubt, the most virile candle I own. It's scent, even when unlit, permeates the air with a pleasant aroma of an earthy and bitter yet sweet chocolate. I haven't even lit it that often because the smell lingers so much—which is not a bad thing by any means. If anything, it gives you more candle for your buck (which is a good thing at this designer price point). It reminds me of my days toiling around in an ice cream cream and chocolate kitchen, making the dark chocolates on the conveyor belt with their coffee-like aroma wafting around. I feel like I'm thrown back there with this. It's the perfect blend of sweetness, earthiness, and indulgent. Is this my favorite candle ever? It sits next to (or even slightly above) Polyamberous by Girl Smells. It's scent isn't as crazy, almost-too-sweet, and it doesn't burn out like crazy. I've had the pleasure of having the candle still from the holidays, which is in part due to how amazingly the scent sticks around burning and when not engulfed in flames. If you are expecting Hershey's chocolate, you are out of luck here and should probably try some actual dark chocolate in real life to get a whiff and understanding of true choco sensations. You cannot blame the candle for not being something it was meant to be and it was never meant to be that sweet, hedonistic melting chunk of cacao. Instead, it's its own woody, burnt, and bitter concoction that I pray, hope, and DEMAND Byredo to turn into a realized fragrance.
