Medium Marcie Leather Crossbody Bag

I've purchased many designer handbags from Mulberry to Louis Vuitton to Chanel and Chloe beats them all. The quality get you for the price is unparalleled and this Marcie crossbody in particular is a stunner. I travel a lot for business and this is the perfect travel bag too - easy to store enough and the front flap makes everything safe and secure. I love that I can wear this with a business suit during the week and it dresses down perfectly with jeans on the weekend. The leather is as high quality as it gets and although I've used it almost daily for nearly a year (and again - travel with it) it looks brand new. The leather wears in nicely and is so soft and supple. I get compliments on it constantly. I actually like using it more than my Chanel or LV because it is understated elegance. Those who know designer handbags know immediately it's a Chloe but it's not as "obvious" as walking around with a more known brand. This is beyond worth the price and buying it from Nordstrom is always a plus with the service and return policy.

I love the nut color of this bag and the iconic shape and the crossbody style. Having a toddler to chase after, this would seem to be a wonderful choice. However, after trying it out a few times, I found the flap too large to be convenient and the closure too cumbersome. You have to loop one tassel string into a hole to "secure" it, and it actually isn't secure at all. The Nordstrom display shows the strings tied up looking pretty but that is not practical and defeats my purpose of getting a crossbody bag that I can use one handed. Sadly, I returned this bag.

I am disappointed in this bag. Very poor quality. I have been eyeing for sometime and finally made the purchase. Within two months of owning the bag both straps on the side of the bag that hold the long strap came unglued. Why are they glued into the bag and not stitched? This is poor craftsmanship and unfortunate. When I use this bag I only carry a wallet, sunglasses and a lip balm so I made sure not to make it too heavy. I also take care of my bags so I truly believe this is the construction not use. I would hold off buying this cross body and buy a more durable brand.

I have 3 Chloe Marcie bags. A large hobo, a tan marcie satchel with the cross body strap as well as this one in black. This has such a classic style but the horse shoes braided in both red and white topstitching adds a nice visual interest in the front and gives it a bohemian feel. It is not overly large but is rather roomy. My only regret is the metal dangles on the flap can hurt if you open the flap quickly and it flies up and hits your face which happens when you are hunting for something. They will also swing out sometimes and can hit cars or some furniture with slight pressure to put a slight ding. Also, there is only a small pocket inside, which I can only fit business cards or some receipts in. The pocket under the flap on the front of the purse is slightly roomier and holds more, but overall not as much storage as the other models. I still love it as well as the other Marcie bags.

This should probably labelled "Medium" because there is a smaller size which is tiny. I love this bag! I purchased it in Tan. The leather is beautiful, yet light. It will be a timeless classic. The inside pocket is not very large, but I can put my compact and mini hand sanitizer in it, and the front pocket is large enough for my phone and a few other non-bulky items. I'm quite amazed at how much I can fit inside the bag-just enough so I don't carry more than I need. I purchased the matching zip-wallet that fits perfectly inside. It even fits my ipad mini without being too heavy. I like that it holds it shape and the bottom doesn't sag because of the strap that runs along it. The only thing that can be slightly annoying is that the hanging strap easily falls out of the brass loop, and I sometimes worry how secure the items inside will be if I have to make a run for it (ie. at the airport) or if the bag tips over while I"m driving. I also have gotten hit in the face when I opened the flap too quickly. Overall it is still a fantastic handbag. My SA's Trisha and Emily were wonderful with taking care of everything. Thanks ladies for putting up with me.
