Another Plaid for My Button-down Shirt Collection
I’m writing to let others know that this shirt runs larger than the many other Burberry shirts I have bought. This should state “oversized” to help with sizing. I love oversized clothing and seldom wear “body con” clothing. I have fairly broad shoulders and a bit of a bust, so I choose a size 14 in most shirts by Burberry (XL), and they are on the oversized side if anything on me, but that is my style. (Trousers I wear a 12 at most for British/Italian/French brands.) This shirt that I am reviewing, I inadvertently purchased online in the size 12, but I am returning it for the size 10. The sleeves and width are much too long and too wide to look attractive. The first thing I do is check on the “made in” part of the label. I discovered that this shirt is made in North Africa. Some of Burberry’s outsourcing in recent years has been disappointing and is a deal breaker for me. But I accept Portugal and Tunisia for the outsourcing that seems almost inevitable. However, I do hope this brand can continue its alliance with Italian production as it has historically.
