What it is: An instant miracle mascara tested on the red carpet, that extends and holds your lashes out, giving you the longest, most luscious lashes of your life.

Who it's for: Anyone who wants lashes with extraordinary volume.

What it does: Giving your lashes 13 times the volume with just three coats, this mascara is formulated with a unique blend of waxes and ingredients to ensure that it's hydrating and full of bounce, nourishing, strengthening, protecting and stimulating the growth of your lashes, all while feeling weightless. It's designed with an innovative, multi-bristle flutter brush that features bristles of differing sizes to ensure that even the most fine and short lashes are caught and coated for a separated, elongated look.

How to use: There are many ways to wear one mascara, and the way you apply it can dramatically change the shape and size of your eye. Charlotte recommends powdering the eye area before applying mascara, and sticking to application on your top lashes because of its its creamy, oil-based formula. Charlotte has three different methods for application to create a bigger, more intense or elongated eye.

- The Wing Lash: a technique that elongates the eye for a seductive, hypnotic look. Hold the brush diagonally across your lashes and pull the brush up and out.
- The Doll Lash: a technique that opens up your eye for an innocent, youthful look. Hold the brush vertically and pull up through the lashes from root to tip.
- The False Lash: a technique that intensifies and frames the eye for a glamorous red-carpet look. Hold the brush horizontally across the lashes and pull up in a zigzag action, nestling the brush first in the lashline.

Everyone says Smudgy...but...

I like everyone, on my first go at this thought it was Sooo smudgy! Boy was I wrong. I thought , maybe I did something wrong when applying, so I went and watched many videos of Charlotte applying the mascara The mascara is so dark and powerful, that if you do not 1. Curl your lashes, 2. Clean the excess off the brush, it easily gets very thick at the root, which in turn can get on your upper and lower water lines. If this happens and you blink like a human, you get smudges! HOWEVER, if you clean the brush and place on curled lashes without gobbing it near the root, you will have lashes to die for. I wore it just today, for hours at a baseball game, zero smudging. REMEMBER, if you have swiped a lot off the brush of mascara try one more swipe. Thinner even coats dry and do not smudge

Don't do it

I am not a huge purchaser of high end mascara, I purchase a lot of high end makeup but have never really found that it was money well spent when it comes to mascara. But I went for it with this one because it was raved about by one of my favorite makeup artist Wayne Goss. I wasn't wowed by the application, even did two coats which is rare, but it did make them very black. Went to work, in an office setting and full A\C and right after lunch was the first time I looked into a mirror since arriving at the office: I had the worst panda eye black smudges a mascara has ever given me! This is not a typical problem for me and I had set my undereye concealer with a lot of powder so it was 100% the mascara. It was so bad that I couldn't wipe it off without making it worse and ended up just removing my makeup and going the rest of the day bare faced. Save your money unless you plan on wearing this as a top lash mascara only...what a waste.

Love the brand, but not this mascara

First of all, I am a huge fan of the Charlotte Tilbury range. I adore her light wonder foundation, blushers, retoucher pen, lipsticks... I recently moved and ordered the legendary lashes from my nearest Nordstrom without trying it because they didn't stock the brand in the store. Within 15 minutes of wearing the mascara it was smudging under my eye (I only wear mascara on the upper lashes). I tried again the next day and the same thing happened so I returned it. Even without the smudging, I honestly wasn't impressed with the effect. I recently visited a Charlotte counter where the sales girl said she typically tops the Legendary Lashes with the Full Fat Lashes to seal it. I have not tried the Full Fat Lashes mascara, but maybe if I had been able to try both mascaras at a counter I would have purchased the full fat lashes and been happy with it. My lashes are very long and fine, I like a volumizing mascara that I can build with several coats. I loved the YSL Faux Cils mascara and used that for years. I am now using the Dior Diorshow Lash Extension and Diorshow Iconic Overcurl and am really happy with them. I would highly recommend all three to anyone that likes thickening mascaras. I do love Charlotte Tilbury's range so I don't want to discourage anyone from trying her products - just avoid the Legendary Lashes, and don't just the brand on that product alone if you have already tried it.

Great lash effect, but smudges

This mascara gives great results as soon as you put it on your lashes. I already have pretty long lashes, but I use this for volume. As soon as you put it on your lashes, they instantly look fuller, thicker, voluminous; however, this mascara smudges like crazy. You will look like you have raccoon eyes with a few hours of wear and no touch up. I recently tested wearing a waterproof mascara over top of this and it worked better, but I still got a bit of smudging on my lower lashes. I would not recommend on lower lashes, but it seemed to work much better on my upper lashes. I'll keep testing because the effect this gives your lashes is really great.

So close

LOVE the volume and separation this mascara gives, BUT the perfume scent lasted way too long and I was getting whiffs of it whenever I moved my head throughout the day. Also, it smudges WAY too easily. When I was wearing this I had something in my eye, so I touched my eyeball to try and get it out and this smudged all the way down my eye area. I feel like it never truly dries - it always feels wet. Too bad because I really loved the effect this had on my lashes, just not the smell or wear

Love and hate this but found a solution!!

Love the volume and length it gives. Like no other mascara I've ever tried. It is amazing and they are really black! But as other reviewers said the transfer is horrible. I didn't have problems on the lower lid, but right under my brow bone. whenever I blink the tips of my lashes would transfer onto my skin. To solve this problem I use Locked and Coated by Bare Minerals. It waterproofs any mascara. I only put it on the tips and top of lashes. It helped me with the transfer problem. Don't give up on it ladies!
