Real Skin+ Eye & Face Stick

It's only 3 stars for me, because I was hoping it would be similar to the fantastic original Real Skin that came in a compact, had an amazing silky texture, and left a sheer veil over the skin. That used to come in a pale pinkish shade I loved. Texture: This new Real Skin has a much stiffer texture and was hard to drag over my face - it's definitely only usable as a concealer. I also currently have the Nars Velvet Matte Foundation Stick and the Hourglass Hidden Corrective Concealer, and pulled them out to compare. Both are softer and silkier. Color: The Chantecaille 'Foundation Finder' shade recommendation is pretty useless - for the face, it states that shade 3 will suit fair skin with a cool undertone (while recommending 0C or 1, or 2 for the eyes!!). However, Shade 3 is too dark and orange for me. I like the paler and pinker Nars Mont Blanc or Vanilla, Koh Gen Do 012, or Hourglass Vanilla, for example. General experience with ChantecaiIle: I used to use Just Skin in Alabaster, but it was a bit too yellow. I may try it again now they have reformulated it (with physical sunscreen). I also liked Chantecaille Future Skin in Porcelain, before they reformulated to use Rosemary Leaf Extract and Chlorphenesin, which irritate my skin. It's a pity, because the new shade Aura looks like it might have been good for me.

I have switched almost entirely to Chantecaille makeup and skin products. When this stick came out I couldn't wait to try it. I have a little redness on my face from my twice a week retinol protocol. You can apply this two ways: Put strokes on your face (like a tiger) and use a brush to blend in, or 2) use your brush directly on the stick and minimally apply as needed to face (great for home office days). I find the texture is creamy and blends great with Chantecaille face products. If you use another brand, maybe it doesn't blend as well. It's creamy, smooth, and blends great. It gives me a flawless coverage. I"ll definitely buy this again.

This is the best concealer I have ever used - and I have tried almost every brand Nordstrom sells. I have fair skin, age spots, and dark shadows; other brands crease and need to be reapplied. I put this on in the morning and I'm good for the day. I use a brush to apply - you don't need a lot.
